Through the slow wake of morning

In the winter I returned

Clouds pull shadows across the glen

Over roots and dry stone walls then back again

We go to find warmth

The cold wind pushes day

Black and grey through the valley

There are heartbeats in the leaves

There are crows that hold the trees and then off

They fly through the sky

Time passes and we stay

All the choices I have made

Lead me to this place

I will travel always here

No matter for the years

No matter if I never call you home

Through the old moon shine

In the winter I waited

As the stars filled the night

None of them I recognised

But you gave them all anyway

So it’s here I choose to be

In amidst the nameless trees

In a place where swans are white

Where it snows in winter time

And you gave me more than I could know

Time passes and we stay

Lead me to this place
