Making It Up As I Go

Parked right on those leaves I said I’d rake

Bout half an hour past an hour too late

Judging by that tear there in her eye

Think I might’ve gone a bit too far this time

So I guess I’m gonna get a couple roses and a bottle of wine

Probably isn’t gonna help but what the hell I’m gonna give it a try

Don’t know how I’ll make it up to her

But if I can just get close

I might get her to stay

And keep making it up as I go

Checking off my list of honey do’s

Might even hit first Baptist second pew

I’ll keep trying til I find something that works

And just pray that she don’t pack that suitcase first
