Seabound Life

The seasons keep on changing

and the years they keep on passing

the days keep on coming from one to the next

there's still a hole inside me

that deepens when I see you

as I stand upon the pier looking over the bay

Now it wasn't very long the little time we spent together

for we both had different lives and the sea was mainly yours

sailing through the harbour or across the western oceans

a sea bound life for you

I remember all the times that we spent down in Dun Laoghaire

sitting at the lighthouse staring or the bay.

watching all the people as they sailed across the water

a life that was meant for you

then the ferry came to greet us and your eyes they opened widely

watching as the ship thread across the rolling waves

you turned and you smiled and I knew in that moment

a sea bound life for you
