Closed for Season

We're closing up the cabin for the season Summer fades away like daytime into evening We're boarding up the windows, locking all the doors This ain't no place for visitors no more The leaves have all flown from the mountain Snowstorms coming in, it's mounting up, mounting up Families drive SUVs back to where they're from It's getting too damn cold for them to come But I could stay with you 'til springtime comes We could hibernate until the thaw And lay ourselves a pallet down and set out to retire And wake up in the night to tend the fire But we ain't got the stuff to make the winter And I have miles to go before I'm sleeping I've been around enough to see there always is a reason To shut it all down and close for season But I could stay right here beside the fire Cuddle up real close with my guitar I've been around enough to see there always is a reason To shut it all down and close for season So turn off all the water valves to kee the pipes from freezing See you all next year, we're closed for season
