Harsh Realization

It's a harsh realization to come to

I stayed too long

My eyes were shut so tight

I let myself go

All of a sudden, I was shooting down the rapids

I didn't notice when or how it happened

I am glassy eyed in the front seat

Watch the tail lights disappear

There's no resolution in a decision

Just the paralyzing fear

Of the pain that I will cause others
