Due to Fear

There\'s dreams and aspirations burning right inside of me/

But I be uncertain to the point that it is robbing me/

Of stepping out and doing something bout it cause I live in fear/

Of making a mistake along the way is what i\'m feeling here/

So then i\'m tryna find some ways to redeem myself/

One of them is critiquing others, I really need some help/

Finding flaws on folks that put their plans into actions/

Just so I can overlook the simple fact that I\'m inactive/

I got college degrees on what i want to persue/

But never took a step further for me to put it to use/

While my degrees are on the wall, in their frames collecting dust/

Instead of moving, I would rather

do a podcast where I fuss/

A coping mechanism just to cover up my shame/

Not having courage to step out and just do it mayne/

With my head being down more than a few times/

By the time I look up, 10 years done flew by/

Sitting here finding ways just to complain

Time is just flying by just like a plane

Settling just for less right at the rear

You can say that i\'m stuck, all due to fear

I\'m at a place where I\'m too comfortable. it\'s getting scary/

Confusing permanent with something that is temporary/

Saying it can\'t get better than this, I set the tone/

I make myself at home at a place that\'s a stepping stone/

Cause it\'s familiar, I connect to it like a magnet/

So I settle, not knowing that it\'ll keep me stagnet/

I\'m talking overall in life, the bigger picture vision/

It\'s a deeper root to why im making this decision/

It\'s a slew of things. Out of all of them, this comes first/

It\'s due to fear. It\'s the fear of stepping out my comfort/

The fear of the unknown, not tryna step out or step it up/

What I got going now, i\'m not tryna mess it up/

The Lord be tugging on my heart for me to elevate/

But I\'m thinking to myself \"ain\'t no better place\"/

Leaning on my own understanding more than a few times/

By the time I realize it, 10 years done flew by/
