Lone Planet

As I hovered in the background Wishing I could just disappear without a trace, I Heard an unexpected sound It was coming from beneath my chest And so I pried it open and there I saw There was a planet where my heart should be You should have seen it Plants and sands and seas Someone there was calling out to me I'm out here doing the best I can Like you told me to Like you want me to But I'm lonely and I need a friend Look at all this space I saved you a place You keep saying you will understand When you're older now I guess you're old enough If you don't wake up this won't mean a thing But what a pleasant dream This whole life has been As I made my way around the room Drifting out to any open mouth that would allow me Felt I should be going soon There was nothing much to talk about Yet everyone was shouting, so I ate the food And I drank the drinks But all the while I felt for something Whirring inside my chest I took it out and there it span about I'm out here doing the best I can Like you told me to Like you want me to But I'm lonely and I need a friend Look at all this space I saved you a place Maybe someday you will understand When you're older now I guess you're old enough If you don't wake up this won't mean a thing But what a pleasant dream This whole life has been I've been here just trying to do my best Isn't that what you told me I should do? But I cannot do this by myself You like it lonely like I like you only And everyone you know is here I guess All your friends arrived I saved you a spot It is getting dark inside this chest But what a pleasant life This whole dream was
