Into the depths

Swimming where pitch black water blurs

Where does it start and I begin?

Fixed to a sun

Scared at the thought of leaving it

Where all that remains is what I choose to be

And I’m parting with a hollow version of what I thought I knew

That it’s not just about how we grow but what we can undo

Tangled in knots

Peeling at layers

Holding in words stuck in time

Living in me

To live what I’m not

Reflecting a twisted logic’s hold

I want to know how it feels to be free
