I can feel it all around me

The air is still unlike my soul

The quiet night begins to drown me

And the fire takes control

The sunset on the road calls out like a wolf into the night

I’m drawn into the distance where the darkness meets the light

Through pines and little towns that know my face but not my name

The delta opens up and takes my soul into her waves

I really thought that I could slow down

And tame the wild in my heart
