Could I Have Made It Back Then

Ever since I was a little boy I heard stories from the past. How Jessie James And the Dalton Gang went around kicking. Life back then must of been hard without All these luxuries. Where all a man needed was a shot gun and a bottle of Tennessee Whiskey Yeah. I've read all the books and seen all the shows so I know how the stories all end But I've only got one question could I have made it back then. You had to learn how to ride a horse and how to use a gun with no alarm clock To tell you the time just the rise and set of the sun. They'd life there lives from day to day Not knowing what they'd see. I wonder what all the Cowboys then would of really thought Of me. I've read all the books and seen all the shows so I know how the stories all end But I've only got one question could I have made it back then. Could I have made it back then with the outlaws or the strong arm of the law. I wonder which side I'd of gone to when I finally got my call. Would I have been The man always on the run with his back against the wall or would I have been The Sherriff fighting against the law
