Lyrics

I break my mind into a million pieces
Put my words into sentences and paragraphs to build a thesis
Son of a sailor built for tailoring words
Served on a platter produced by record nerds
The oddness is godless
Without a touch of consciousness provided by the sound of promise
And we gon' make it a point to make mistakes
Break handshakes amongst the fakes
A gold bar in a pile of dirt
A brick in the wall with so much love it cannot hurt
And I'm bezerk with an idea created in fear
If we don't make it past here there is no career
As I stand in the house built by my art
I got the nerve to say that things are tearing apart
Backstabbed by the feel of goods sold by my fans
This is our future displayed in their hands
Undesired, rotten and gifted
The greatest story never told and man we lived it
So come get it cause we don't believe in being selfish
We're not selfish
Say the sun might swallow you
So what's a man supposed to do?
Cause I can't save us again
And in the loss and confusion
We might craft our own sun
And make a run for something grand
I lose it all for my addictions
And my penmanship slowly reflects my affliction
So I build up to break down
Still screaming at one another just to make an honest sound
I never thought that you would listen
I'm dumbfounded by the moments that you even pay attention
And I ache for permission
In an attempt to be another name you should mention
So I sit and stare at the sun
Blueprint the plan so I can maybe make one
And change something cause my heart grow stale
Fill up my life, paint in the pale
I lack focus, fabricate direction
Push forward, void of perfection
Absent-minded, hard to find it
Comfortable when all of the pain's subsided
Bite my tongue and run from everyone
Cause I never face my fears of being outdone
Washed up, watch me wash away
Still banging on the screen door asking her to come and play
I misused a muse or two
Even a few you knew
But tell me what was I supposed to do?
We paint pictures out of dirt and mud
I'm only human with a taste for blood
Say the sun might swallow you
So what's a man supposed to do?
Cause I can't save us again
And in the loss and confusion
We might craft our own sun
And make a run for something grand
