Sometimes it takes forever

To make the rain come out of the sky

But it comes down, always down

Then the cactus on the ground

Is only happy for a moment

Before wishing to be drying again

That's what they tell me like, sunshine the bright lights

Shadows in the turnpike, shelter or past life

I try to find a common thread, a heaven sent

But I only seem to see shadows of what they think they said

I understand now, I see this so clear

You never seem to see until you been there

That's why the hat folds, where the quarters rolls

And the queen trumps the jack when the cards fall, and that's all

I've made castles out of paper mâché from the headlines on the floor

I used election news to raise the highest tower

But classifieds I saved for the door
