Cold Like the Heart of Men

Stay there where you sleep, it's all that you need. I wait on the timing to wake you a day that is good. Now for sure we can't, tomorrow we might be able to give you a dream in the palm of your hand. You'll grow in the valley just like the trees and just like the trees, they won't let you breath. 'Cause here in the city, the morning is cold, the morning is cold like the heart of men. Long before your time, you've learned how to lie. It flows in your skin like a river that's blown by the wind. Now grown into a man, the best that you can. It won't be enough for the world to be loving you blind. Then we'll make our peace from hopes and beliefs that all that we share stays in your heart, upon your flesh that your dad has done all that he could. We'll look at the stars and lay in the snow to find out how we could leave something behind that shines and won't melt this time.
