Well it’s said that this life is both brief and uncertain / A moment of sorrow a moment of care / Some walk to find loneliness haunts them like Judas / Some walk to find happiness vanquish the scared / And they’ll widen the gap and they’ll tell you you’re ugly / They’ll snap off your bow and they’ll cut off your hair / They’ll walk you right down to the garden you watered / They’ll step on your love if you don’t stand and say that you’re there / It’s so hard to find truth in this chaos / For chaos in truth is so certain it bears / But of this I am sure we are given a purpose / And choice is a wonder familiar and rare / And they’ll hide in your thoughts and they’ll call you a liar / They’ll tighten the knot till you’re struggling for air / And they’ll wrinkle red plastic and call it a fire / And they’ll burn out your love if you don’t stand / There / Well it makes me sad and it makes me furious / It makes me so mad that I almost despair / When we run from the one that we always desired / When we dance around everyone but our true care / And they’ll spin you in circles then point to the tightrope / They’ll deal you their cards and they’ll tell you it’s fair / And they’ll listen for only what words they are after / And they’ll steal all your love if you don’t stand / There
