If life was easy there'd be no pain No hate, no sorrow, no apology, no blame But if life was easy how could we complain? There'd be no lawyers, no police There'd be no TV, running battles in the streets Bit if life was easy could we live in peace? You may be wondering what I'm thinking of Life is cruel and unkind And it'll get you every time Then again sometimes I wonder. Why we have to be Like chickens always chasing something we can't see But if life was easy would you be with me? No doubt there'd be no fear No poison rain detected in the atmosphere But if life was easy would we disappear? If all your enemies became your friends There'd be no one left to face 'Cause we'd all be out in space Waiting for something else to happen No joy on the phone Got company just when you need to be alone But if life was easy we could all go home If life was easy we could all go home
