In the Valley of the Shrieking Gale, we sought the ancient crone Who told to us, the legend of the beast Beyond the frosted ruins, it stalks, the shadowy unknown Elusive secret of the vision priests Hunt the creature if you dare, she said Gaze into its burning eyes of dreaming dread Breathe the smoking doom of ages Taste the wisdom of the sages The witch laid out the omens and she read Seek ye out the Dieselbeast Across the glacial wasteland to the drifted vale beyond With swiftest paw, the creature fled the chase Across the mountain pass above, with haste, we traveled on To caves beneath the rock, the monster raced Under the earth enraged it crouched and hissed Snapped its jaws and snarled at the edge of the abyss Eyes of cosmic light a-blazing Into untold eons gazing And from its maw blew forth the smoke of myth Fire of the Dieselbeast Colors and echoes, music of reason Mists of the dream in the shadows of time Uncharted galaxies, terror and wonder The infinite stretches and bends at the mind We fall into night The shadows of uncharted space come alive as The stars fill the air Aligned in the cosmos and burning an unbroken stare From out the black unknown, we rose and breathed Walked from out the mountain as if stepping from a dream Into cosmic night beholding Pathways of the Wyrd unfolding And from our hearts, it burst through as a scream Power of the Dieselbeast
