When we first met you were light and slightly goofy,

And awake and bright, in a way I liked,

And I don't know what happened in you,

Still I feel I've been played,

Whatever this was,

Now resembles a joke,

What is the point?

Now I feel duped and robbed and I see unlived life in everything,

And I wake up and I hate this room,

And I hate this coffee and I hate this food,

And I don't care if the sun is out,

And I don't care what I do with my day,

And it's hard to imagine a time when I won't at least feel a shade this way.

What's with this rage? I'm not one to feel that,

For I know it's not real, it's just sadness and fear, Doing the Viennese Waltz in my head,

While I'm sweating through the sheets in bed,

Every night since you called it a day,

I didn't fight it this time, and I felt free and okay,

Til driving out to my parent's place, The tears started falling down my face,

And haven't stopped.

Now I feel duped and robbed,

And it's at odds with the vibrancy of spring,

All I wanted was a summer with you,

Til on some side street, leaves falling,

When we could look each other in the eyes and say

Well hey, at least we tried,

But you just bailed and then you got your life back,

I got mine too but I don't want it.
