Towers

I found it kind of humorless

Our fallout months ago

I knew you way too well too fast

And it's taken its toll on me

You thought I was an angel

Seemed that I perceived you as a saint

I saw myself within you

And within me you found somewhere to place your faith

I was noble like a knight

I was lucent like a light

I was taller than a tower

When I stayed within your sight

I was taller than a tower in your sights

So now I'm not afraid of heights

Was never my intention to

Grow overly attached

Although I may not sure

Of what else one's supposed to do

When they are made to feel like that

Will I ever understand

Why you saw me as an angel?

I told the whole damn world you were a saint

Now I wonder, why do I still hold on?

And try to decipher what went wrong

Seems I'm not as wise as you characterized

And I cannot always see straight

I was all you were about

I depended on your deference

Counted anybody else's out

I guess all I can do is hope that

You pause, reflect, see it in hindsight

As something just so right
