Who Are You Who Am I

I read that love is not what you say but what you do I read to be kind, compassionate and always tell the truth To look out for those less fortunate than you, it's what you do Yeah what you do I read that where you're from and how you look don't matter I read it's the heart of a person that we really should be after Big house, small house, no house laughter is laughter As long as there's joy in the chatter. I read that's the heart of the matter So... Who are you and who am I? Is that all true or am I losing my mind? If love is not what you say but what you do Oh so what'd I do? What'd I do I read we don't choose the day we come or the day we leave I read life's a vapor, quick; yeah like a passing dream I read what's important is those days in between Oh and the simple things. Yeah the simple things I know, every word I read can't be true Some things I've heard contradict my point of view But what's good and pure and kind, these are the things I'll pass on down through my life I read that where the tongue leads the heart will follow I read that quietness is often mistaken for brilliance so take time, think a while And listening I read it's the key to peace I read that literature adds to reality it does not simply describe it Then I read some funny things in the paper, and i think "that's not what author meant" I read a lot of things that cause me to lose my focus For the simple things, oh the simple things
