Wherever it is gone,

Out of my life

Somewhere far flung,

Lonely has left me out in the crowd,

Not being alone is so

Awfully long.

My poor mind

Looks set to crumble,

No peace for my thoughts

It's all rough and tumble.

The husband, the baby

The dog and the cat,

Are all closing in on the miniature flat,

And I long for the lonely.
