Autonomic

Stagnant circles of filth

cradled in cables worn and rusted through,

exposing components, sharpened to a point,

and reaching copper fingers through insulation.

Imposing on growth, tangled in sinew and burning tissue,

juxtaposing flesh and electric pulse.

Composing concoctions to sear the skin

and rip out the sinews buried within.

Pushing through possessed by another;

consciousness recedes, defeated

sanity weakened and reeling.

Frayed senses scream to each other.

Response from the brain pleading

toward what once was, careening.

Immersed in fluid produced by the spine,

swimming through channels of a ravaged mind.

Manipulating actions through impulse control...

Moving the body and disposing of the soul.

Motion grows to be an autonomic response.
