Lyrics

Point A was
The first interlude that I created for Geometry
And ended up coming about
After I listened to circles, triangles
And squares in order as what I thought
Would just be a three-song EP
The flow just didn't feel right to me
And the energy from song to song was so
Drastically different that
I felt I needed something to make everything more cohesive
As we traveled from one song to the next
In geometry, a point is
Defined as a location that has no width, length or depth
It just is
So with this in mind
Kind of visualize the sequence of songs
Within this musical body as a line
A line, in geometry, is defined as a line of points
That extends infinitely in two directions
So point A, in this context
Is simply a destination on the musical journey
It has a function, but then again it doesn't
You can kinda say that it's somewhat of a leitmotif as well
And actually creating these musical inserts
Was a way for me to practice developing motifs
When I wasn't scoring a film
Morse Code ended up becoming
The foundation upon which I created the interludes because
When you see Morse code on paper
It's a series of dots and lines
Now, I opted to leave the interludes
Without lyrics because I wanted to give listeners the opportunity
To both reflect and prepare their minds
For what was next
So, pay close attention to the
Instrumentation and rhythm as you listen
Here's Point A
