How Sweet It Is (To Know the Lord)

I was lost deep in sin, couldn't find no peace within

What could I do?

I was searching endlessly, looking for reality

What could I do?

People here, people there, oh, they were everywhere

But I was lonely still

But somebody told me

How sweet it is to know the Lord

I was lost just like an oar

Floating out on a lonely shore

No destiny

In the midst of a roaring tide

I was tossed from side to side

No destiny

I never thought there would ever be someone to rescue me

But now my soul is glad, for now I know

How sweet it is to know the Lord

For I heard the voice of Jesus say

"Come unto me, my child, this day

I'll give you rest

I know you must be worn and weary

And your days must be so dreary

But I'll give you rest"

And I'm so glad this news was brought to me

For now, I've been made free

And my soul is glad, for now I know

How sweet it is to know the Lord

How sweet it is to know Him

How sweet it is to love Him

How sweet it is to trust Him
