What is this pain
I hear footsteps down the hallway
To remind myself I'm not alone some days
It's hard to fight
That constant cloud of negative insight
That we must resist to feel light
I've spent too many days locked inside my brain
Thinking I'm not connected to
Anyone when it doesn't work that way
I started reaching out to give the love that I was missing
And found that everyone feels alone
Despite what our brains are hissing
