Beneath my skin is a shield which protects a flowery field

Surrounding my heart, and it beats like an army

Hello again, so you know, I had to let you go

It wasn’t easy, it was slow, and my, oh my how the pain would grow

So I wrote a letter to myself and I put it in the mail

And I opened it up just this morning, and this is what it said

And I'm drowning going down in a vandalism swirl

Even the weakest light can shine into the face of darkness

So maybe a heart like mine can climb up from the edge of heartless
