Lyrics

Do you see the worker bees
They pollinate the flowers down by the sea
They fall down to their knees
To kiss the feet of the queen
The smell of flowers fills the air
Awakens a sleeping bear
And all the winter long
She dreamed of honeycomb
A mother bear well she teaches her cubs
Where to dig, how to eat the grubs
And all the while she’s lickin’ her lips
With that predator’s smile where the honey once dripped
Beeswax in the bear tracks
Beeswax in the bear traps
Somewhere in a hunting lodge
An old man adorns his camouflage
A father teaches his sons
How to clean their granddaddy’s guns
He says “Well see, boys, when your moment comes,
Don’t you budge, you turn that bear into a rug,
So that all the winter long,
Keep your mama’s feet warm”
Man’s tracks on the bears’ backs
Man’s tracks on the bears’ backs
Lookin’ down on it all
On these silly little lives on this spinnin’ ball
The Lord is bored, he lets out a yawn
Just like that the whole mess is gone
If space is where minds meet
But time is how God eats
Space is where minds meet
But God this reminds me
Of this old daydream
That keeps repeating
It’s like a mountaintop
And Lord it just don’t stop
Do you see the worker bees
They pollinate the flowers down by the sea
They fall down to their knees
To kiss the feet of the queen
