Moving Blinds

Not my inclination to unpack why I'm afraid Tuck these vivid images somewhere inside my brain 'til I Can't deny, can't deny, fail to fly, flee, or hide and Circles, lines, and blood are pooling just beneath my sight Battle scars from fighting every minute in the light wondering What's it like, what's it like? Shedding skin, taking flight Timidly call out to moving blinds Ask, "are you there?" and then say "never mind" Faithlessly announce that I am fine But vacant space still keeps me up at night Muscles wind their worry on my bones and grip me tight Cannot move my hands to blindly glide and find the light fearing Is that you behind me? Senses peak, spirit leads moving Right into my stomach, swelling fluid in my spine Flesh erected by a though that's growing in my mind, thinking Am I visited at night? Maybe... just a flicker of the light Timidly call out to moving blinds Ask, "are you there?" and then say "never mind" Faithlessly announce that I am fine But vacant space still keeps me up at night Fearfully cry out to rattling doors "You're not welcome here, not anymore" Seeking air, collapsed upon the floor Shaking at the thought forever more
