Was always praying for Better days a better daze yeah Now a day its like we're in a haze But take a look and see just whose to blame Its hard to say man its hard to say ay Better days a better daze When others weren't so quick to act astray Or mix up self restraint and empathy Reminiscing on the better days Do you remember who you were when you were first exposed To harsh realities in life so many have come to endorse Until this day my disarray came from my childish ways But before long innocence song and I had parted ways It started out like any other Tuesday and and Thursday Its 9am I'm breaking bread with public attorneys Congratulations young man they were so proud to exclaim By end of day you'll get to say who you go home with today What Tick tick tick tock tick tick tick tick tock Father time unwound my mind while he moved round the clock Tick tick tick tock tick tick tick tick tock A mother's lover a fathers trust and just one door to unlock damn Tick tick tick tock tick tick tick tick tock In a room filled with cops judgement and foiled plots A child was forced to choose praying his heart wont stop Sure could use a few Better days a better daze yeah Cause now a days they just seem miles away I swore an oath and took the center stage And watched the family ties disintegrate ay Better days a better daze I wish there could have been another way But if there's anything to take away Its make the most of what you have today Every choice that we make will have their dire consequences But a knight in shining armor has never had their metal tested Keep in mind these words I rhyme are not an open invitation To throw caution to the wind and compromise with being reckless Those that live by the blade are sure to die by the sword Nothing cuts us quite as deep as the knife of true remorse So walk firmly in your path, carefully chose what you endorse A better daze or better days its up to you to make the choice, yeah A better daze or better days its up to you to make the choice
