Shadows

Lost in a cycle, born of desolation Fear has become my only friend As the shadows creep up on me The sleeplessness ceases to end In the gloom of the night my mind lingers in tragedy Tending to dwell on the past, susceptible to insanity How did these shadows find me, what do they want from me? Though I doubt anything I give will satisfy their needs I resent the light within me Giving in to these shadows This degradation flows into my very being The thought of reparation drains me of all feeling I think, therefore I am, but what am I supposed to be? This life has taught my eyes to never truly see I resent the light within me Giving in to these shadows Holding in my own compassion For fear of being left behind And now I'm broken, I lie in torment My world is dead and so am I Now I've spoken, so leave me dormant Woe is me, o' misery Staring into this illusion (Staring into this illusion) Will I be free of my delusion?
