Aimless creatures, Born into the void They gather around the lights Seeking treasures of which they are devoid They stumble forward through time Gifted desire Gifted with purpose Gifted with reason They may begin to comprehend In the beginning, There was one truth for all All the light they knew came from the stars The sky was all blue and burning But then they evolved On and on they stumbled forward through time Gifted desire Gifted with purpose Gifted with reason They may begin to comprehend I will give them desire, And gift them with souls I will give them purpose, And forfeit control I trust them with tools, To change what grows around them But I can't let them comprehend How the human equation is just a means to an end Solo: Chrism I gave them purpose, They came up with war Killing each other, To make sense of it all There's too much at stake, For repeating past mistakes No ground to gain or defend And the human equation is just a means to an end
