I'm consequentially underrated again

I can't pretend like these times I've spent in despair don't correlate

To my immense hatred at my own expense

I never see what people tell me to see

I can't be who I want to be because who I want to be ceases to be entirely

And it occurs to me that fake smiles and joking seems to mask the truth I'm dying to keep inside of me

And only dying can let it free

So truly it'll die in me

How does it feel

To be in a house but not a home

All alone is where you learn the truths that be

I used to love watching the stars from my back door

I can't see the stars anymore

And it may be this new smog or the clog in my brain

But the pure distain for that blanket sky reverberates in my veins

Until the pain exceeds all previous misdemeanours

And my so called university wisdom can't even dent a glass ceiling

Let alone equate to the dreams that are retreating

I've been meaning to stop believing in these adolescent feelings but

They're deceiving

How can I

Wish every goodbye is our last

Yet I dream no one ever leaves again

Left alone with my thoughts

Nothing seems to feel quite the same anymore

If I dropped off the edge of the world

What would I do

The prophecy comes true
