Lyrics

Hiya, boys and girls!
It's time again for your four o'clock fun-time
Favorite, the kiddies' friend, Captain Bang-a-roo!
Put your dreams away and hear me good, pops
This is the thin one
Once upon a time there was a chick named Cinderella Frankenstein
Real square, like, uh, you know, the kind that
Digs glass slippers, coaches, and Prince Charmings
Well, she lived with her two stepsisters and stepmother
And they, they were real swingers from the word "go"
Strictly hipsville
Well, this bugged Cinderella, and she was
Always puttin' them down like they were crazy
And they were
Only, you know, like, uh, crazy-crazy
Well, uh, they owned this groovy little pizza palace
Called Stepmother's Place, and man, it was a gasser
It was, like, so hip they wouldn't even serve an old-fashioned
And the only cigarettes they carried were like, uh, what else? Kools
Well, like, Cindy didn't dig this scene at all, pops
You know, like, she would just, like, cool it in her
Dingy little pad and get her kicks from reading crazy
Clippings about her famous daddio, Doctor Frankenstein
Well, like, one night she was reading a gory little story
In Bleeder's Digest when all of a sudden, like, out of
Nowhere, this real strange-lookin' cat came on the scene
And Cinderella says
Who are you, may I ask?
Well, I ain't Mr. Dylan
I'm your Scary Godfather, ma'am
Anything you want, just let me know, and I'll
Have it here faster than you can say "goon smoke"
Well, like, when Cinderella heard this
She started throwing lines at him, like
Oh, Mr. Scary Godfather, you've just got to help me find my father
Well, it just so happens that your
Pappy and I are the closest of fiends
Even closer than me and Doc
Why, it's like I say, ma'am, there's just
Nothin' your old pappy won't do for me
Why, he's got the heart of a teenager, and
He keeps it in a bottle right on his desk
Oh, Mr. Scary Godfather, when can I see my father?
Tonight at midnight, he's throwin' a big
Shindig at his castle, and everybody's invited
But before you go, ma'am, I've, I've just got to
Do somethin' about that there dress you're wearin'
And that crazy mixed-up hairdo
So he took out his magic honkin' sax, played a real cool lick
And just like that Cinderella turned into a wailin' vampire
Crazy
Now let's cut out from this scene
It bugs me
Whatever you say, ma'am
But remember, now, you've just got to be back before the rooster
Crows, or I can't be responsible for what might happen to you
Uh, dig?
Like the most, man
Now wrap your chops around that sax, so I can start flippin'
And just like that, a tired old pumpkin turned into
The ginchiest sports car, and Cinderella split
When Cindy made the castle scene, it was a real swinger
You know, the joint was jumpin' like the sands
Doctor Frankenstein was there with all
The crazy monsters he had whipped up
And, man, like, they looked like they were made for each other
It was like, uh, one big happy funeral, you know what I mean?
Like, real togetherness
There was only one cat at this swingin'
Affair that Cinderella really dug
She had seen him once before at Stepmother's Place
The moment he spotted her, he flipped like
Uh, you know, ring-a-ding-ding-ding
My name is Peter Ghoul, I'm a private iodine
I know
I've seen your picture on a bottle in my medicine cabinet
Well, man, you know, like, it was too much
Like, they was happy as two morticians at a yellow fever epidemic
And suddenly Cinderella turned to Peter Ghoul and said
Man, I gotta cut before the sun comes up
It's like, you know, time for a coffin break
And with that she flew right out the nearest closed window
Well, like, uh, Peter Ghoul was really brought down, '
Cause he didn't even know her from Hank Henry, you know?
And like, uh, then he noticed that she had dropped her glove
When he picked it up, he cried
Cuckoo! Like, how hard is it to find a
Chick who lost her six-fingered glove?
The next day he started on a door-to-door gig, and finally he
Came to Cinderella's pad, and she was really sleepin' warm
He saw her through the window, and his
Ticker began to tilt, and he plowed right in
But when he got a good look at her, he was
As confused as a milkman at a crematory
Cinderella was no longer the real cool weirdo he had known
She was her old square self again
A real bubblehead
She got so panicky that she ran into the backyard
And got her neck caught in the clothesline
Real hung-up style
And what a crazy ending, like, everyone was gassed
'Cause at last Cinderella was a real swinger
Okay, Nels, tear it up
