Fighting Fires

I'm afraid to light an ember When everyone I love is fueling flames So I stay cool just like the weather So I can put 'em out It feels like everyday and Oh, I been so conditioned by a household that's always burnin' up Oh, feeling like the only fireman in California I'm fighting fires While everybody else is striking matches everywhere Their smoke climbs higher So I keep mine inside until I'm running out of air And I'm so damn tired Don't they know it's easier if they just didn't care?
