Stephen faced the wrath of his accusers

He watched them raise their stones up to the sky

Declaring Jesus longed to be their Savior

Even if it meant today he’d die

Meanwhile up in heaven things were busy

As angels flew to witness Stephen’s fate

A celebration soon would be commencing

And that moment Stephen stepped inside the gate

A country preacher felt he’d been forgotten

But death was near, and it was time to go

Imagine the surprise he found was waiting
