Black Road

The sun is down inside of me Ain't no cloud I can see The river's high as a peregrine It's felt lower than a creek Well it's no one's need to heal my pain When I reflect on where I've been The visions dance before I sleep And the night, yeah she strips me of her peace I see shame behind me and another black road ahead To be indiscreet is unlike me I don't want to believe this is a "personal collapsing" kind of thing Cause as far as I can see I ain't alone here I don't want to believe this is a "quit it all and kick back" kind of thing But as far as I can see that's in the essence of what it is Because the wheels are rollin' And I'm looking back again I said the wheels are rollin' And I can't embrace myself
