Four White Lines

A flowerbed of plastic runs Beside the grass so grey Watching from the backseat of The car I see the bay I watch the waves and Watch the boats upon them gently sway I wonder why the people that I Once knew got away I'm OK Doing fine Been a while since I've seen these four white lines Running through Grey-ish blue Heading south towards a city I once knew I once knew I once knew I once knew a place where I grew up But pushed it out my mind A spaceship looms above the M6 Watching from afar Everyone that's singing wishing They could be star They drive so fast and race each other down the motorway Until their car flips over and they close it for the day I'm OK Doing fine Been a while since I've seen these four white lines Running through Grey-ish blue Heading south towards a city I once knew I once knew I once knew I once knew a place when I was young But left it all behind
