Lyrics

My latest patch arrived yesterday
A map of the Bermuda Triangle
I stitched it painstakingly onto my jacket
A little bit crooked I'm trying though
Just another cryptid to join my collection
Of patches on jackets and volumes on shelves
Mythological things I pretend to believe in
I've convinced everyone but myself
I wish I could see past my ribs to my heart
And I wish that Mothman was real
Wish I knew what it looked like inside of my chest
So I'd know what it looks like to feel
And I envy conspiracy theorists
Because they know exactly who they are
But unfortunately I'm a realist
Can't convince myself of the bizarre
I wish I could see past the logical things
And I wish I believed God was real
Wish I knew how it felt to have such strong convictions
That you never doubt what you feel
And I envy conspiracy theorists
Because they know exactly who to blame
But I'm too individualistic
And these postulates all sound the same
