Intro Robot's Lament

You can smile, blink and talk

So can we

You blemish and tarnish with age

So do we

Your joints creak and you need oil to limber them up

So do we

You use a complex array of electrical routing

To help you communicate, move and do

So do we

But you grow from nothing, grow larger and displace – yeah

We stay the same shape from birth,

Do not breathe and do not care

You live and store memories that make you happy and sad

You love, you cry, you are born, you die

All we can do is sit and stare until rust creeps up our metal bodies

And with a rattle and hum we push the last energy

Through our diodes to light our eyes one last time

Oh we wish we could understand the beauty of the sunset

That makes your eye's water

Even if it is the last one the world has to offer

Which we hear, won't be too far away
