He was born One winter in a year we don't know At one year old Seeing planes drop bombs out his window They ran away Good people lent a hand but only Interested in what it would pay Shaky plans Caught crossing the line and now forced into the frozen lands She was born By the seaside life was warm At four years old Fled from the war left all she'd known And they go Why are these boats so big and so frightening Can't we just go back to sleep How do we know that we're doing the Right thing How much of ourselves will we keep?
