We extracted the black gold From the entrails of the world We gave it thousands of forms Thousands of appearances and colours The vibrant demon is parading at the ocean's surface Spreading his shadow as a parasite The consequences of our actions make my head spin I feel attracted by the abyss that we're creating We have been given the power to create Yet we give birth to dead, empty shells When will we escape our shrouded cave To appreciate the endless intricacy of the rose And the branch, that will blossom And perish in the same breath?
