The Dream

Last night I dreamed of BB

I was walking right next to him

There was this huge parade happening

And we were in the thick of it

We was walking down this main street

As happy as can be

When up ahead I spied Buddy Guy

Waving out at me

He was standing by the entrance

To his legendary club

So I turned to BB and I said, excuse me BB

But you know, something's just come up

Next thing I knew, I was inside

My guitar in my hand

Playing my heart out with every note

Next to Buddy and his band

And I played

Well, I grew up listening to music

That my daddy and his band would play

Listening to the songs on the radio

They would play every day

I've heard the Vanguards, I've listened to the Fentones

The Blood and Thunder, The Living Dead too

I've listened to the Super Sound Factory

Man, those guys, they really grooved

And then as I grew older

Playing in different bands

Honing my chops, singing these blues now

Here's where I am

Now that you've heard to my story

I tell you it's all true

There's one thing I know, I can never stop doing

It's playing my blues for you

I'll play that for you
