What could possibly cause someone to have the mental desire to physically harm, or kill another person or persons, with a well thought out, methodical plan?

I watched as the light faded away

Haunted by visions of hell

It wasn’t death that scared me

It was the thought of their lives without me

And having to watch them move on

As I traveled through the fire there was no way out

As I fight for my life I start to come about

I saw the man and I crept up slow

My hands flew around his throat

“Did you find what you need?” he croaked

His smile faded, his body went cold

I stepped back and struck the match to make sure this never happens again

I’m not violent by nature, but on the brink of dying, I understood the process of death and suffering. A mild buzz caught my mind, visualizing, remembering the chaos I created.
