Visibility Near Zero

From the window I watched you walk into the water It took me a second to comprehend It was cold outside We had just had a little fight My mind started screaming an alarm I ran down the stairs and to the back door My thoughts racing, trying to understand Looking left and looking right Wind, salt, and sand stinging my eyes Visibility near zero With each minute more of my hope dies I pushed myself faster across the sand Hope and pain flooding my senses Where are you? Why did you go? What are you thinking? Can this really be a path you choose When you have so much more to lose? Are you really gone? Or in the end could this just be a ruse? Did you end it all to protect her? Or is this all about you? If this is slight of hand and you've disappeared I can't understand or agree I know that you're a woman of conviction But this feels like a lack of vision The ocean begins to churn As the winds continue to increase Hope further fades As the building storm peaks Why! Why! Why! This thought screams again and again Things were always complicated But this was never supposed to end in this way My brain is scrambling to figure this out But all I am filled with is doubt
