Lyrics
I'm not here for a long time, I'm just here for a good time
Roll another death stick (urgh), I need my nicotine hit
Boss man telling me to get a mortgage, but paying rent I can't afford it
Plus all this useless shit, I went and bought it
I've got millennial madness, I've got a side of badness
I love a few on the weekends, it's to hide the sadness
All my mates on some sort of pills, little up, little down to make us feel real
We smile online and we lie about real feelings inside and how we feel ill
I speak to the doctor, doctor, I say Doc' I feel like I'm gonna die
He says "Jack calm down son, coz that's the only guarantee in life"
So i'm like fuck all them feelings, fuck all that anxiety
I've got one life and this shit is so behind me
We are who we are, we are the bastard sons
And out future's not ours, we are the forgotten ones
I never was good at education, I'm really embarrassed of my nation,
I always gave in to temptation and I don't really have a lot of patience
I used to play Knock! Knock! ginger, piss off the neighbours and run
Probably was a little rapscallion, but I loved thy neighbour son
I went to the Christian school, sat on the floor and listened to the preaching
But all got from my education was selling cheap smokes and avoiding the teaching
I used to love the high street, I used to meet there on the weekends
Hang outside the bus stop waiting for my friends
And they brought the mis', I brought the chief
It was the only way we knew how to deal with the grief
No future, no jobs, kids learning have to survive in the Great British tragedy
It's a travesty, all the promises lost in reality, a whole generation lost in austerity
And that's the only thing that's clear to me
And I hope you hold us in low regard
'Coz we're the bastard sons and we're at your yard
