It gets longer every day

Try to make you stay awake for me

But you go to sleep

It gets harder all the time

When you tell me that I’m distant now

But you shut me out

I’m going somewhere that I’ve never been

Am I the only one who's caving in?

I’m surfacing

I find it hard to swim

It gets closer to the end

As I look beyond to somewhere else

But you’re not yourself

But it comes and goes in waves

As we move on backwards to the past
