Lyrics

Ever since I can remember, I've painted on the walls,
first with chalk and crayon, on furniture, down halls.
I dreamed I was a caveman who simple people called,
that weird and magic strange man whose pictures walk and talk
All the world was new to me. Flashing rhinos, fleeing herds,
call to you from the spirit world. Welcome to the Shaman's Gallery.
From Italy up through England, from Germany, cross France.
I filled the caves with color, and the fire'd make em dance.
The chiefs would throw a party, the other chiefs would come,
they'd trade weapons, teeth and daughters, send the boy who paints the sun.
All the world was new to me. Long before the Buddha, Confucius or Socrates,
Mother Nature was my philosophy.
I'm a prehistoric rockstar, eccentric at a glance.
Keep a Saber-Tooth Tiger, I wear wooly mammoth pants.
I'm an underground sensation, from a million years BC,
I've survived through evolution, and my work can still be seen
I'm just painting what I see. Ancient Greeks to impressionists
all learn from watching me, an artist of distinct vitality.
We lived like this for ages, in peace and harmony,
longer than any other modern society. If you don't believe my story,
Just read the DNA The more things change they stay the same,
I'm still with you here today.
I'm just painting what I see. Pablo Picasso said it best,
all other art is decadence. You don't have to be a Caveman to agree.
