Lyrics
I tossed and turned so anxiously alone
My voice was tired, my hands were hurting
With fists clenched tight from ways that I've felt wronged
And in the end was it even worth it
For God's sake you're not a martyr
So be a man and stand up straight and own your sin
It seems I'll only learn the hard way
That you can't always trust the Godliest of men
I can't go home on bridges that were burned
But that seems fine 'cause I don't want to
The end will always justify the hurt
Until it won't and then we both lose
You never seemed to want to listen
Unless the only voice you heard was yours
It's such a shame to see a good thing
Let someone steer it so far off it course
Maybe next time will be different
Or maybe the problem was me
What if you're right and I'm no good but far too blind to even see
And I got too caught up in lies that being right's what mattered most
And all is worth it in the end to gain the world but lose your soul
I tried real hard to hold it in
It seemed what was right but wasn't easy
I'd never go so far to say I'm clean
But I refuse to take a beating
