Scratching away at the surface of the deck

It's a game, but you're nervous of your neck

Taking the same old jokers from the pack

It's all play, but you're begging me to attack

Moulding the clay into pottery in your hands

In a day you'll be breaking it into sand

Taking a hand to your body, as though you care

It's the land that's containing you, till it tears

Shining a light on the boundary of the peak

It's not right, but you know that it's what you need

Starting the climb with supplies that are on the cheap

It's not wise, but you know that it's all you see
