In a flash it came simultaneously A signal distant, discordant At a high frequency Searching for something beyond the defined Nebulous, abstract And sealed by mysterious forces radiating from Ultima Thule Eyes erupt in a nuclear gleam Wrenched from the torment of that dream Clouding fog, hazy scenes Transmission stopped by the gleam! Haunted by that dream, or scenes from memories? The beacon of a relay league or warnings in open seas? Fly dauntless starship, Cygnus-1! Shift into hyperdrive Commence countdown, Cygnus-1! Faster than light racing through the stars Ignition engaged; we have lift-off We'll reach the outer limits! Soft, the Signal's lost Drift into the unknown Frozen in cryo On and on we go, waiting in the cold On and on we go, I'll wait for a signal to be loud and clear Is that a signal I hear?
