Adam, at my first breath you had said,

“Bone of my bone, flesh of my flesh, You are Woman,

taken from my side for us to remain side by side;

My ezer and best friend, Love will cover us.”

We must’ve forgotten this covenant

Because I took a bite of death said yes to sin

tasted only nakedness and regret, and in the moment

of our greatest weakness

Your pointing finger betrayed

Like a punch to the gut,

Like a comet crashing into earth,

Like my crown clattering to the ground,

all the sacred air in my lungs left and I fell

Deeper, I fell,

beneath you, under you, I fell cursed to fight alone

in a heartbroken existence Having lost Eden and that place by your side by side,

your ezer and best friend.

But then the Son of Man,

the Second Adam, appeared

Humble, meek, lowly,

a Servant-King, Prince of Peace

the Word made flesh.

I witnessed as He climbed the hill

that had once been our Eden Carrying that cursed tree on His back, He suffered blows and nakedness

on both our behalf

And in the moment of Love’s greatest sacrifice

Our pointing finger betrayed Like a punch to His gut,

Like a cat o’ nine tails tearing flesh Like a thorny crown crushing His skull all the sacred air in His lungs left

as a crimson river of new birth bled

We rose, higher,

as He descended into hell,

We rose, higher,

as He took our betrayal

with Him to the grave,

Carrying our blame like nails piercing

Yeshua gave us His name

and lifted us up, higher,

didn’t throw us under the bus

didn’t condemn our lack of trust Instead covered us with His blood Made the cross a bridge back to glory When water and blood

flowed from His side

I’ve been born again by violent love bled for me to reign side by side

as His Beloved and His Bride,

Under a new apple tree, He awakened me And His river is life flowing from my belly

Dear Adam,

my brother, my husband, my friend Forgive me. I release you too cuz Love covers us

Let’s let the river flow freely

For the glory of the Lamb of God, the Son of Man
